Native Earth Performing Arts is seeking a Producer to join our team.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Producer is responsible for supporting the artistic vision and operational delivery of Native Earth’s productions, festivals, and special projects. This role combines project management, budgeting, contracting, marketing support, and community engagement to ensure the success of our programming.
Key Responsibilities
· Works within the budget provided by the Managing Director, to produce the season, tracking actual expenses in collaboration with the Administrator, ensuring financial records are clearly maintained, recorded and filed, and working with the Managing Director and Administrator to submit actual budgets and final reports;
· Liaising with artists to meet season deadlines and to ensure the smooth running of the season; negotiating and contracting artists when necessary, using Canadian Actors Equity Association (CAEA), The Associated Designers of Canada (ADC), and non-union contracts in a timely fashion. A working knowledge of the mentioned and other associations (i.e. Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA)) is an asset;
· Overseeing and managing partner organization outreach initiatives for the season, in collaboration with the Artistic and Managing Directors; facilitating and coordinating specific outreach initiatives (i.e. artist talkbacks, artist-led workshops, etc.) throughout the season,
· Supporting the Artistic and Managing Directors in conceptualizing and realizing new season offerings;
· Liaising with the Marketing Coordinator to identify unique methods for reaching target groups and reviewing marketing copy to support the implementation of season offerings;
· Liaising with the Production and Facilities Manager to ensure smooth and efficient production processes and meet the needs of each presentation and/or production in the season;
· Support the Managing Director, Administrator, and other relevant staff in creating or amending program and/or production and/or presentation budgets for various funding grants, as well as reviewing various funding grant applications;
· Provide administrative support to programs offered by Native Earth (i.e. Animikiig Creators Unit, Indigenous Producer Training Program) and acting as a liaison between Native Earth and program leads;
· Manage highly confidential financial information;
· Uphold Native Earth’s workplace culture, values, and policies;
· The Producer will work with the Artistic and Managing Directors on other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Key Capabilities
· 2–3 years of producing or arts administration experience, ideally in theatre or multidisciplinary arts.
· Working knowledge of CAEA (CTA), ADC, ACTRA, and standard artist agreements.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
· Experience building production budgets and/or large-scale budgets and managing and financial records.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience with grant writing or fundraising is considered an asset.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with theatre operations an asset.
· Commitment to Indigenous cultural protocols and community engagement.
· Ability to work some evenings and weekends during production periods.
Additional Information
· This is a part-time position, 20–30 hours per week. Hours may increase during production periods, and flexibility is required in September-November (peak programming season).
· This position is hybrid, with in-person work required at Daniels Spectrum (Toronto).
