Bridging Worlds: Creating an Integrated Interpretation for 'Sorry For Your Loss' with Deaf Indigenous Consultants featuring Gaitrie Persaud-Killings

In this workshop, we’ll take you behind the scenes of our innovative journey to create an integrated sign language interpreted version of the theatre production Sorry For Your Loss, designed to increase visual access for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences. Through a collaborative process, we worked closely with Deaf Indigenous consultants who guided the interpretation process, ensuring the show was not only accessible but also culturally resonant.This workshop will offer insight into how a creative and inclusive approach can transform a production, fostering deeper connections with diverse audiences and enriching the overall artistic experience. Access can be a creative stimulant that enhances performance for all.
