A wide prairie horizon. A storm rumbling in the distance. A cold wind blowing through dry grasses, carrying with it the howls of wolves, the sighs of a fiddle, and the voices of Ancestors long since passed.

In an abandoned one-room cabin, a simple wooden coffin lies on top of a kitchen table. The prairie skies darken and suddenly, in a flash of lightning and burst of thunder, the coffin lid rises and the corpse of a Métis woman emerges. A Descendant has woken up in the body of her deceased Grandmother. How did she get here? Why has she been transported into the body of her Ancestor? What is she meant to do or find in this desolate purgatory?

A second flash reveals another figure silhouetted in the shadows- a lightning rod salesman named Murray. He seems to recognize the Descendant and this body she is inhabiting. When he offers his services as a guide in this strange place, the Descendant doesn’t see any other choice but to trust him. Murray reaches for one of the many jars gathering dust on the cabin shelves. It glows and pulses as if in anticipation. These are her gifts, he claims. An inheritance of memories to help guide the Descendant on her hunt for her Grandmother’s story.

As she is plunged into a series of disordered moments from her family’s past, the Descendant must dive into the depths of her blood memory if she’s to uncover the truth about her Ancestors, her relatives, and herself.
